매년 커뮤니티를 향한 사회환원에 힘쓰고 있는 오픈뱅크와 오픈청지기재단이 2016년도 오픈청지기 프로그램 (Open Stewardship Program)의 수혜단체 선정을 마무리했다.

오픈뱅크와 오픈청지기 재단은 16일 2016 오픈청지기 프로그램의 수혜단체로 총 45개 단체를 선정했다고 발표했다. 이어 이들 단체에 대한 지원금 수여식을 오는 23일(목) 오후 6시에 오픈뱅크 웨스턴지점 (550 S. Western Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90020)에서 개최한다고 밝혔다.

오픈청지기재단은 오픈뱅크가 매년 수익의 10%를 사회환원을 목적으로 재단에 전달하는 기부금 중에서 2016년 오픈청지기 프로그램을 통해 총 36만6000달러를 지원한다. 이로써 오픈뱅크와 오픈청지기재단이 지난 6년동안 오픈청지기 프로그램을 통해 커뮤니티를 지원한 금액도 170만달러를 넘어서게 됐다.

오픈청지기재단은 지난해 10월부터 11월말까지 2016 오픈청지기 프로그램에 대한 신청을 접수받았으며 총 62개 단체가 신청했고 이 중 45개 단체를 수혜단체로 선정한 것이다. 재단측은 올해 심사에서도 커뮤니티의 소외된 사람들을 섬기는 정직하고 성실한 단체를 우선적으로 선정했고 특히 지난해 수혜단체의 경우 지난해 지원금의 사용부분을 중점적으로 심사했다고 밝혔다.

오픈청지기재단의 김옥희 이사장은 “오픈청지기 프로그램이 우리 커뮤니티에 보다 영향력 있고 실질적인 도움을 줄 수 있는 프로그램이 될 수 있도록 노력하고 있다. 올해도 심사 과정을 통해 커뮤니티에 필요한 점이 너무나 많다는 것을 느낄 수 있었다. 앞으로도 오픈청지기 프로그램과 함께 커뮤니티내 단체들의 프로그램들도 한층 발전되고 효과적인 프로그램이 될 수 있기를 기대한다”고 말했다.

오픈뱅크의 민 김 행장도 “오픈뱅크는 그동안 커뮤니티내 비영리단체를 지원하면서 이들에 대한 관심이 많이 필요하다는 것을 느꼈다. 그래서 솔선수범의 자세로 오픈뱅크는 올해 커뮤니티에 보다 다가갈 것이다. 물질적인 지원 뿐만아니라 전직원이 커뮤니티를 위해 봉사하고 함께 뛸 수 있도록 지원할 것이고 커뮤니티에 도움이 되는 이벤트도 기획해 커뮤니티에 좀 더 도움을 주는 오픈뱅크가 될 수 있도록 할 것”이라고 말했다.

Open Bank and Open Stewardship Foundation have selected 45 recipients of the 2016 Open Stewardship Awards and will hold the Awards Ceremony on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at 6 PM at the Open Bank Western Office (550 S. Western Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90020).

Of the 62 applications received from October 1, 2016 to November 30, 2016, 45 organizations have been selected after a careful review in accordance with the Foundation’s objective.

Annually, Open Bank donates 10% of its profit to Open Stewardship Foundation as a way of giving back to the communities it serves. Of the 2016 donation, Open Stewardship Foundation will distribute $366,000 to the 45 recipients this year. In the 6 years of the Program’s existence, the total awarded donation amount will now exceed $1.7 million ($1,726,000).

As we are introduced to more organizations each year during the selection process, we learn that our communities need continuous and growing support. We hope that these organizations we support, along with the Open Stewardship Program, can grow together to effectively serve those in need” stated Ock Hee Kim, Chairwoman of the Open Stewardship Foundation.
